maledeerAvoidance – This is commonly perceived as a reaction by a dog to a presence or a stimulus where the dog is avoiding a task by a number of behaviors including but not limited to looking away or traveling in the opposite direction and so on.

Axle - The axles are actually the shafts on which the compounds cams are rotating.

Axle to Axle Length - This is the distance between one axle and another on a compound bow.

Bachelor Group - This is what you have when bucks are congregating in groups and separating themselves from the rest of the deer during the spring and the summer months.

Back - This is a command that notifies a dog that it should leave the side of the handler and go away in a straight direction.

Baffles - Baffles are barriers that are used in order to contain bullets while reducing, redirecting or suppressing the sound waves on a fringe range. Baffles are typically placed in an overhead manner, alongside or at the ground level.

Balk – Another word that is used for balk is “no go”.

Bawl - This is an intense sound that a deer will make when they are traumatized and attempting to alert other deer.

Beam – This describes the main branches of the antlers on a buck where the forks will grow.

Bedding Area - This is a trampled area of ground where deer can rest. The spots are generally chosen because they are well concealed and they offer a place where the deer can watch for approaching predators. Deer typically have a number of different bedding areas within the range of their home.

Big Hunt – This is what occurs when a dog is unable to find its mark and has to hunt a larger area looking for the bird.

Birdiness - This is a quality in a dog that is desirable as it describes the dog’s high interest in birds and retrieving birds. Birdiness is often used in order to describe a dog’s natural prey drive.

Bitch - This is a technical term that is used to refer to a female dog.

Blacktail Deer - This is a subspecies of the common white tail deer, and they are only found in the western portion of the North American continent. This deer is only distinguishable from its white tail cousins by its naturally darker body, its black tail and the fact that it has a smaller frame.

Bleat – This is a type of vocalization that deer are known to make.

Blind – This is a structure that is made out of fabric or canvas where the dog and its handler can wait before they are called to the line. The blind is also often used in order to hide the gun stations within the field.
